🐾 Paws and Care Theme Documentation

Welcome to the official documentation for the Paws and Care WordPress theme! This guide will help you set up and customize your pet care website quickly and easily.

đŸ“Ĩ 1. Installation

  1. Log in to your WordPress Dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Appearance → Themes.
  3. Click Add New → Upload Theme.
  4. Select the paws-and-care.zip file from your computer.
  5. Click Install Now, then Activate.
💡 Tip: After activation, visit Appearance → Paws and Care Info to access quick setup links.

🏠 2. Setting Up the Homepage

To display the theme’s beautiful homepage layout:

  1. Go to Pages → Add New.
  2. Title the page “Home” (or any name you prefer).
  3. In the Page Attributes panel on the right, select Template: Front Page.
  4. Click Publish.
  5. Now go to Settings → Reading.
  6. Select “A static page”.
  7. Set Homepage to the page you just created.
  8. Set Posts page to your blog page (e.g., “Blog”).
  9. Click Save Changes.

🎨 3. Customizer Settings

All theme settings are available in Appearance → Customize → Theme Settings.

đŸ–ŧī¸ Slider Section

Enable/Disable: Toggle the hero slider on or off.

Add Slides: Add up to 3 slides with custom images, titles, subtitles, and buttons.

Speed: Adjust autoplay interval.

🐾 Services Section

Title: Set the section heading.

Add Services: Add service items with FontAwesome icons, titles, descriptions, and links.

ℹī¸ About Section

Image: Upload a featured image.

Content: Add title, description, and a “Read More” button link.

📰 Blog Section

Show/Hide: Toggle the latest posts section.

Number of Posts: Choose how many posts to display.

đŸĻļ Footer Settings

Copyright: Customize the footer copyright text.

Columns: Choose 1-4 widget columns for the footer layout.

🔝 Header Settings

Sticky Header: Enable a fixed navigation bar.

Overlap Mode: Make the header transparent over the slider.

📋 4. Navigation Menus

The theme supports two menu locations:

  • Primary Menu: Main header navigation (supports up to 4 levels of dropdowns).
  • Footer Menu: Simple horizontal links in the footer.

To set up menus:

  1. Go to Appearance → Menus.
  2. Create a new menu or edit an existing one.
  3. Assign the menu to “Primary Menu” or “Footer Menu” location.
  4. Click Save Menu.

đŸ“Ļ 5. Widget Areas

Manage widgets at Appearance → Widgets.

  • Sidebar: Appears on blog posts, archives, and standard pages.
  • Footer 1, 2, 3, 4: Widget areas for footer columns (based on your Footer Columns setting).

📞 6. Contact Page Setup

  1. Create a new page and select Template: Contact Page.
  2. Go to Customize → Theme Settings → Contact Page.
  3. Add your Google Maps embed URL.
  4. Enter your Email, Phone, and Address.
  5. Paste your Lead Generation Form Pro shortcode (or any contact form plugin shortcode).
